This is a 1.0 FTE Assistant Coach position for Girls Soccer with a stipend length of Fall and compensation of $4,100.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the welfare and conduct of team members from the time they report for practice or a game until they leave the school.
- Exemplify good sportsmanship and respect for each athlete as an individual.
- Serve as a role model in the education of student athletes, prioritizing character building over winning.
- Plan and supervise the team during all events, practices, and competitions.
- Work with the athletics director and booster club on budget requests, spending, and fundraising.
- Support and implement in-season and out-of-season conditioning and weight training programs with staff.
- Coordinate practice and game schedules with the Athletics Office and other program coaches.
- Enforce and model discipline and positive sportsmanship; manage penalties for breaches of standards.
- Perform other relevant duties regarding the program.
Specific Responsibilities
- Enforce all rules of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) and ISD 191 as they pertain to the sport.
- Follow athletic department policy for ordering equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
- Assist the Athletics Office in maintaining complete and accurate records for MSHSL participation.
- Prepare and maintain a team roster, including grade level, team level, and positions.
- Report and document all major student injuries immediately to the Athletic Trainer and Athletics Office using an injury report form.
Requirements
- Knowledge and background in the specific sport (Girls Soccer).
- Knowledge of State, Federal, and ISD 191 School Board Policies regarding student conduct and disciplinary action.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with coworkers, parents, community members, supervisors, and students.
- Ability to receive feedback and adjust accordingly.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to furthering the benefits of student participation in co-curricular activities.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
Qualifications
- Coaching license or completion of MSHSL Coaching Certification preferred.
- Must be current on MSHSL Coaches Dashboard account with Continuing Education or willing to complete requirements.
Pay
$4,100 stipend for the Fall season.
