Assistant Coach, Football (Middle School)

Position is for the 2026-2027 school year at Skyview Campus.

About the Program

The Skyview Wolverine Athletics Program is rooted in leadership, excellence, and integrity. Middle school and high school student-athletes from all Mapleton schools compete together as the Skyview Wolverines. The program features league-recognized coaches, state-qualifying teams, and state-champion athletes, emphasizing fair play, courtesy, and generosity.

Pay

Co-Curricular Salary Schedule Category Ten: $1,700 - $2,880. Post-season compensation: $169 for each additional week with a competition.

The benefit package for Mapleton athletic coaches includes Colorado PERA and employee-paid sick leave, as applicable.

Qualifications

• Valid Colorado Teachers License preferred; other candidate credentials will also be considered.
• Strong, comprehensive knowledge of football.
• Experience working with middle school or high school athletes.
• Ability to work as an integral part of the coaching staff.
• Knowledge of proper fitness and conditioning techniques for athletes.
• Current First Aid certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill teaching responsibilities as priority if currently employed as a district teacher.
• Adhere to the rules, regulations, stipulations, and policies of the Colorado High School Activities Association.
• Assist with training participants in sport techniques, fundamentals, sportsmanship, and team concepts; attend clinics and conferences to stay updated on current trends.
• Manage inventory, issuance, control, collection, cleaning, and storage of all uniforms, equipment, and supplies related to the sport.
• Assist in developing daily, weekly, and seasonal practice schedules for maximum utilization of personnel.
• Assist in submitting end-of-season reports, inventory, and budget requests.
• File accident reports for any student injured under supervision.
• Assist with organizing award presentations for the sport.
• Communicate special needs (equipment, transportation, budget, fundraising, game officials, eligibility) to the Athletic Director.
• Ensure athletes do not practice or play without current parent permission slips, physical examinations, insurance waivers, and emergency forms.
• Maintain fairness and consistency in decisions related to sport participation.
• Encourage students to improve academic success, maintain eligibility, improve attendance, and develop self-esteem.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Training

Mandatory Title IX training is required within 30 days of hire, addressing harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Two training courses must be completed on your own time.
