Assistant Coach - Dance
About the role
The position is a seasonal stipend assistant coach for dance at a high school level. The stipend ranges from $3,327 to $4,786.
Responsibilities
- Coaching dance teams
- Developing and implementing practice plans
- Mentoring and developing dancers
- Ensuring compliance with WIAA rules and regulations
- Participating in annual WIAA clinics and training sessions
- Completing required training for concussion recognition and management and sudden cardiac arrest awareness
- Reading and signing the KSD Coaches Manual
Requirements
- Valid background check
- Valid first aid and CPR card
- At least 19 years old for assistant coaching positions
- At least 21 years old for head coaching positions
- Completion of WIAA general rules clinic, sport-specific clinic, and KSD Vector Training
- Concussion recognition and management training every three years
- Sudden cardiac arrest awareness and training every three years
- Coaching Principles training or NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course after the third year of coaching
Qualifications
Applicants must meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check, and be at least 19 years old for assistant coaching positions and 21 years old for head coaching positions. They must also have a valid first aid and CPR card and complete the required training.
Skills
Strong leadership skills, ability to work with young athletes, knowledge of dance techniques, and familiarity with WIAA rules and regulations are essential.
