About the Role

Cedar High School is seeking an Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach. This position will remain open until filled. The Assistant Coach will work alongside the head coach to develop student‑athletes, conduct practices, teach game strategies and techniques, and foster a positive appreciation of the sport.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with various coaching responsibilities, including conducting practices and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques.
• Assess players' skills and assign team positions.
• Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.
• Coach and instruct players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of wrestling.
• Observe players during competition and practice, keeping the head coach informed to determine needs for individual or team improvement.
• Assist in determining game strategy based on the team's capabilities.
• Help maintain standards of pupil behavior and provide proper supervision of athletes at all times.
• Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
• Adhere to state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
• Model sports‑like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Follow established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Participate in special activities such as banquets, award nights, and assemblies.
• Perform support tasks including distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, equipment inventory, and other related records.
• Model non‑discriminatory practices in all activities.
