Position Summary
The Assistant Coach must be committed and student-focused and work collaboratively with the Head Coach to develop student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally while upholding the values and expectations of the school and athletic department.Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of the assigned sport's fundamentals, strategies, and player development
- Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of the Head Coach.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes and families.
- Ability to meet all district and state coaching certification requirements.
- Knowledge of the assigned sport's fundamentals and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior coaching or competitive playing experience preferred.
- Teaching license and/or employment within the district.
- Experience working with adolescent students or developing youth programs.
- Background in strength and conditioning principles.
- Previous coaching experience at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level.
- Demonstrated commitment to character development and positive team culture.
Primary Responsibilities
- Program Support & Leadership
- Aid in implementing the program's philosophy, goals, and expectations.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture.
- Student-Athlete Development
- Provide instruction in sport-specific fundamentals, strategy, and skill development.
- Support individual growth and development of all student-athletes.
- Promote leadership, teamwork, resilience, and character.
- Practice, Competition, & Supervision
- Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, team travel, and related events.
- Aid in game preparation, scouting, and in-game responsibilities as assigned.
- Communication & Professionalism
- Maintain professional and timely communication with the Head Coach, players, parents, and administration.
- Represent the school and athletic program positively at all times.
