About the role

The Emory Division of Hospital Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Medicine, to serve as a night-shift inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician.

Responsibilities

  • Devote between 1% and 25% of your total professional effort to scholarly activities.
  • Participate in teaching, including occasional lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship.
  • Perform professional service duties, including:
    • History and physical examinations of patients being admitted to the hospital.
    • Absessing the acuity of hospitalized patients and ensuring a proper level of care.
    • Bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for.
    • Consultation services for specialty provider partners.
    • Order consultations from specialty provider partners.
    • Initiating contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
    • Working with trainees, which may include allied health professionals.

Requirements

You must have completed residency training in Internal Medicine and be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine. You should have experience in inpatient Hospital Medicine and be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

The clinical schedule will be in accordance with internal Division policy and procedures and according to your actual clinical effort.
