Under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer, assist project teams in creating world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across a variety of sectors, including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities.
Responsibilities
- Work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.
- Assist in the civil design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
- Modify and review production drawings for projects such as power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, governmental, and military facilities.
- Design civil components based on project needs and requirements set forth by project managers.
- Apply basic knowledge of civil engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
- Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers; assist with compiling studies and reports.
- Correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers using multiple CAD-related software.
- Assist with client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
- Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program plus successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of standard civil engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment; demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Basic computer skills in AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD, and civil analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located (no time limitations, restrictions, or need for work sponsorship).
Pay
$80,000.00–120,000.00 yearly. The expected compensation range is based on individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility to participate in a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
