Assistant Childcare Teacher

About This Role

Join Chroma Early Learning Academy in Canton, GA as a Assistant Childcare Teacher working with Mixed / All Ages. The role calls for a willingness to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, with employer support and offers $13 – $15/Hr to qualified childcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.
• Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day care of the children in the classroom.
• Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
• Follow all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.
• Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED Required
• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to Pass a Background Check
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.
• Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.

Nice to Have

• Teaching/Childcare 1 year (Preferred)
• In progress, or willingness to obtain CDA, TCC, or paraprofessional.
