Roles and Responsibilities
- Directs all signal maintenance, ensuring cost-effective maintenance for safe, reliable, and efficient Rail service.
- Manages rail signal design and construction of capital projects and infrastructure improvements and programs.
- Represents the Infrastructure Engineering Department and NJ Transit at meetings, presentations, public hearings, and Board meetings.
- Manages departmental needs, including personnel-related matters, and establishes safety guidelines for work practices and procedures.
- Provides direction to subordinates and recommends standards for signal construction and maintenance.
- Ensures standardized inventory, improved reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction by improving operation performance.
- Directs and assigns the preparation, review, and approval of various technical project reports, status reports, Board items, cost estimates, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Coordinates all activities within the Communications and Signals Department.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related area, with at least 9 years of experience in the design, construction, and/or maintenance of railroad infrastructure, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
- The position may require service to be performed outside of normal business hours.
