Position Responsibilities

  • Available during all days and shifts, including holidays, with compensation for holidays worked.
  • Primary van driver, providing transportation services to veterans according to program, appointment, and community needs.
  • Affirmative actions to assess needs and interests of Veterans Place residents, initiating programs, activities, and community development.
  • Assists with orientation and welcoming of new residents, promoting responsible living and a culture of sobriety.
  • Collects and delivers drug screen samples to the Veterans Administration, monitors physical facilities, and performs light maintenance tasks.
  • Communicates important issues to the Milieu Coordinator and participates in administrative activities as required.
  • Identifies and screens patients for psychosocial needs, conducts psychosocial assessments, and develops treatment plans.
  • Coordinates referrals to the Veterans Administration and other community-based providers, expanding the referral network as necessary.
  • Uses evidence-based individual and group counseling techniques, maintains case records, and adheres to legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with the public and/or in a customer service capacity preferred
  • Ability to relate well to others and handle administrative responsibilities
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Veteran status preferred
  • Prior to employment, passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and a background check are required
