About the role

As an Assistant Case Manager – Case Aide at the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS), you'll support children and families under the direction of a Case Manager. DCS is a social and human services agency whose mission is to partner with families, caregivers, and the community to strengthen families, ensure safety, and achieve permanency for Arizona's children through prevention, services, and support. After four years of successful service, you'll be eligible for promotion to the DCS Specialist Trainee position ($21.70/hour).

What You'll Do

  • Support children and families under the direction of a Case Manager
  • Provide direct services in Department of Child Safety programs
  • Transport clients and ensure proper use of child safety seats
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate services
  • Supervise parent-child visits
  • Refer clients to community resources
  • Attend court hearings and required meetings
  • Document client interactions and activities
  • Provide general case management and clerical support
  • May be required to work outside of regular hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime

  • Build and maintain trusting, professional relationships with children, parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Demonstrate compassionate communication and active listening when supporting families during sensitive situations
  • Use attention to detail when completing clerical tasks such as data entry, file maintenance, and document preparation
  • Collaborate effectively with case managers, supervisors, and service providers as part of a team-centered approach
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and mobile technology to communicate, schedule, and document work
  • Safely transport children to appointments while maintaining compliance with driving and safety requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory 39 month driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Work history, Central Registry and Public Record will be considered
  • This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business
