Assistant Business Controller- Finance (Onsite- Overland Park, KS)

Responsibilities

• Report on and identify opportunities to influence the financial performance of a segment of Netsmart’s client base
• Act as a key financial liaison between internal teams and client-facing groups, including Sales and Client Alignment
• Interact daily with clients and internal stakeholders to address financial inquiries, review contracts, conduct variance analysis, and support change requests
• Take on greater ownership of client communications and lead financial review meetings with business leaders
• Work with cross-functional teams including project management, billing and collections, relationship management, and sales to ensure accurate and timely financial management
• Aid in setting and driving the financial strategy for the region
• Absorb responsibility for bookings, revenue, and cash collections
• Create ad hoc and update standard reporting to secure closure of financial issues and sales opportunities
• Provide input to the financial planning process
• Perform regional forecasting and provide variance analysis of results relative to forecast

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• At least 3 years accounting and finance work experience including financial reporting, analysis, planning and forecasting
• High level of professionalism with internal and external clients
• Prioritize meeting deadlines
• Proven ability to effectively communicate across organizational functions and with diverse audiences
• Preferred: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, at least 1 year business controller work experience, at least 1 year enterprise resources planning (ERP) platform such as Financial Force work experience, at least 1 year software revenue recognition and accounting for multiple element arrangements work experience, at least 1 year private and public accounting sector work experience; including “Big Four” firm audit
