About The Role
Join our CBRE team supporting Nvidia’s world class Santa Clara multi-building campus, where your mechanical expertise keeps cutting edge innovation moving in their Super Labs! We’re seeking an Assistant Building Engineer with strong commercial chiller experience to maintain and repair complex HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, and control systems across the site.
What You'll Do
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
- Monitor chiller plant operations including chiller plant sequences, control actuators and pump VDF controls from BMS, cooling towers operations, heat exchangers, CDU/CDA systems, FLS panels, sprinkler and pre-action, and electrical systems for labs and offices.
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
- Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
- Assign work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs.
- Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
- Inspect new installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
What You'll Need
- A High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience supporting data centers or plant operations.
- In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Universal CFC certification is required.
- Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Experience with Chiller Plant operations, electrical systems for office and lab, cooling tower operations, and other HVAC systems required.
- Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
Qualifications

Pay
The minimum salary for the Assistant Building Engineer position is $40 per hour and the maximum salary is $45 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
