Assistant Breeder Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of breeder operations
• Lead team to ensure proper methods & techniques for breeder flocks’ health and performance
• Aid in training and leading team in on-farm management techniques
• Maintain and adjust breeder flock records as necessary
• Ensure compliance with federal, state & local agencies
• Recruit new growers; maintain and improve housing conditions
• Review weekly settlement data and investigate grower complaints as needed
• Oversee pullet chick placement scheduling and AI monitoring

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Animal or Poultry Science or other closely related field
• 5+ years breeder management experience
• Excellent knowledge of breeder bird health
• Excellent communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Frequent travel to assigned farms
• Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Walking in an outside environment, including inclement weather conditions, on a daily basis
• Subject to dusty and hot environments on a constant basis
• Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles
• Sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts
