Assistant Breeder Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of breeder operations.
• Lead team to ensure proper methods & techniques for optimal health and performance of breeder flocks.
• Aid in training and leading the team in proper on-farm management techniques.
• Maintain and adjust breeder flock records as necessary.
• Evaluate and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local agency regulations.
• Recruit new growers; maintain and improve breeder housing.
• Review weekly settlement data and address grower complaints as needed.
• Schedule pullet chick placements and monitor AI (Artificial Insemination) procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Animal or Poultry Science or closely related field.
• 5+ years of breeder management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of breeder bird health.
• Outstanding communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent travel to assigned farms.
• Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Daily walking in an outdoor environment, including inclement weather conditions.
• Constant exposure to dusty and hot environments.
• Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
• Sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts.
