Assistant Breeder Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of breeder operations
• Lead team to ensure proper methods & techniques for optimal health and performance of breeder flocks
• Aid in training and leading the team in proper on-farm management techniques
• Maintain and adjust breeding programs based on flock records
• Evaluate and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Recruit new growers; maintain and improve housing facilities
• Review weekly settlement data and address grower complaints as necessary
• Oversee pullet chick placement schedules and artificial insemination monitoring
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Animal or Poultry Science or closely related field
• 5+ years of breeder management experience
• Extensive knowledge of breeder bird health
• Outstanding communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Frequent travel to assigned farms
• Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Daily walking in an outdoor environment, including inclement weather conditions
• Constant exposure to dusty and hot environments
• Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles
• Sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts
