Assistant Branch Manager (Retail Banking)

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Branch Manager to serve as the on-site leader of our Plank Road Office in Altoona, PA—driving operational excellence, team performance, and exceptional customer experiences. As Assistant Branch Manager, you will partner closely with the Regional Manager to achieve branch goals while providing day-to-day leadership and support to your team.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site leader responsible for daily branch operations.
- Drive branch performance through strong leadership, accountability, and customer focus.
- Monitor sales, service, operational, and growth metrics to ensure branch goals are achieved.
- Oversee cash management, ATM operations, TCR management, and operational controls.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support branch staffing and perform Personal Banking Advisor responsibilities as needed.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience through personalized service and financial guidance.
- Assist customers with account openings, account maintenance, consumer lending needs, and banking transactions.
- Identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships through relevant products and services.
- Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and a commitment to service excellence.
- Promote digital banking solutions and financial tools that enhance convenience and accessibility.
- Represent the bank within the community and cultivate relationships with local businesses and organizations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop branch team members to achieve individual and branch goals.
- Foster a positive, engaged, and high-performing team environment.
- Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance support.
- Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and team member relations matters.
- Manage scheduling, timecard approvals, staffing coverage, and PTO requests to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Partner with leadership and internal departments to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.
- Participate in meetings, projects, and committees that contribute to organizational success.
- Share insights and recommendations to improve branch performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3+ years of banking or financial services experience.
- Demonstrated success in sales, customer relationship management, and effective team leadership and development.
- Experience originating consumer loans with an annual loan volume of at least $1.5 million.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Ability to maintain NMLS registration in accordance with the SAFE Act.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Business or a related field.

Working Conditions
Work is normally performed in an interior/office environment. This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for large portions of the day, with ongoing need to move about the immediate workspace or to other areas of the office to accomplish tasks. Constant use of repeated motions involving the hands, wrists, and fingers is required, as well as an ability to observe details at close range throughout the day; may occasionally need to bend, stoop, reach or stretch to retrieve items or accomplish tasks. May adjust or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
