A+ FCU is growing and we are looking for the right candidate to assist with the operation of our San Marcos Branch. This full-time, exempt position offers a minimum annual wage of $59,423.

About the role

As Assistant Branch Manager, you will be responsible for the operational and administrative functions of the branch, including day-to-day supervision of staff and member resolution. You will monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain a strong working knowledge of all credit union services and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Management
    • Assist the Branch Manager in supervising branch employees by overseeing daily operations, completing observations, coaching employees, and providing input on hiring, terminations, and evaluations.
    • Implement and monitor the branch schedule for maximum productivity, service, and overtime control.
    • Assist the Branch Manager in meeting or exceeding established branch goals.
    • Direct workflow assignments for Member Services Officers I, II, or III.
    • Update timekeeping and payroll.
  • Branch Support
    • Perform Safe Deposit Box functions as needed (if applicable).
    • Assist members with account and product inquiries.
    • Conduct branch sales or training meetings as needed.
    • Consistently meet or exceed individual goals for increasing retail services per household.
    • Resolve problems and assist with complex transactions presented by members or staff.
    • Provide Notary Public services and Medallion Signature Guarantees as needed.
    • Maintain ongoing working knowledge of policies and procedures.
    • Handle vault responsibilities as needed.
    • Oversee balancing, processing, and transmission of cash letter (Branch Capture).
    • Provide ATM Operations assistance in balancing and troubleshooting (if applicable).
    • Administer supervisory overrides and check approvals.
    • Oversee branch opening and closing duties.
  • Miscellaneous Duties
    • Ensure branch regulatory compliance.
    • Evaluate and report any maintenance or equipment needs.
    • Participate in Community Education and Business Development events.
    • Assist at other locations as needed.
    • Travel to training, meetings, or other branches as required.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field preferred.
    • Four years of financial institution experience required.
    • Two years of supervisory experience required.
    • Knowledge of teller/vault operations, new accounts, Safe Deposit Box, and product knowledge.
    • Knowledge of financial institution policies, procedures, and products/services (credit union experience preferred).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • Must obtain Notary Public and Signature Guarantee certification within the first six months.
  • Physical Functions
    • Ability and stamina to work at least 40 hours per week.
    • Frequent reaching, feeling, bending, stooping, carrying, fine manipulation, and data entry.
    • Heavy communication through telephone, email, and in-person interactions.

Pay

$59,423 annual minimum.
