About the role

Assists in the direct delivery of services to members and through branch staff. Works with the Branch Manager to increase member loyalty development and achieve credit union and branch-specific strategic goals. Hires, develops, and supervises assigned staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Branch Manager in achieving the credit union’s Vision, Mission, Guiding Values, and Service Promises in the assigned branch (55%).
  • Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, and manages a highly qualified staff to meet the needs of the branch.
  • Establishes and maintains objective accountability measurements and evaluates performance for all direct reports.
  • Creates and maintains a coaching culture to drive the highest level of achievement and performance for every employee.
  • Provides leadership to ensure Tellers and other assigned staff reach strategic branch and individual goals.
  • Participates in scheduling branch hours.
  • Oversees general operations, daily practices, and monitors product delivery quality.
  • Opens or closes the branch, conducts meetings, and provides report information as needed.
  • Serves members as a top priority by providing information, assistance, and troubleshooting/resolving member concerns and problems (20%).
  • Backs up Tellers and other branch positions as needed.
  • Ensures staff compliance with all applicable regulations and credit union guidelines (10%).
  • Responsible for compliance issues associated with deposit programs, including Regulations B, D, E, Z, CC, and DD.
  • Assists in the development, proposals, and implementation of deposit program strategy and policy (5%).
  • Leads activity related to new product development for deposit programs and products.
  • Assists in establishing the annual operational budget and monitors performance to budget throughout the year (5%).
  • Establishes annual sales goals (in conjunction with marketing) for deposit products and initiates actions to achieve them.
  • Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned (5%).

Requirements

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience.
  • High school education or GED.
  • In-depth understanding and ability to interpret regulations affecting deposit programs, including Regulations B, D, E, Z, CC, and DD.

  • Teller skills for backing up branch positions.

Physical Requirements

  • Some lifting required (up to 30 pounds).
  • Continuous sitting, occasional standing, and occasional walking.
  • Finger dexterity while using a computer.
  • Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone.
  • Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at 20 feet or more.

Schedule

  • Normal workday with occasional overtime or unpredictable schedule.
  • May require working Saturdays or Sundays.
  • Requires attendance at meetings and events in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions (e.g., robbery).
