Assistant Boutique Manager, North Park

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in delivering an exceptional luxury client experience and achieving boutique sales goals.
  • Partner with the Boutique Manager to drive sales performance, review boutique KPIs, and communicate business priorities to ensure alignment, accountability, and execution across the team.
  • Coach and develop associates in luxury selling, styling, clienteling, and relationship-building, empowering them to grow their businesses, leverage Retail Excellence tools and resources, and deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Partner with the Boutique Manager to drive client acquisition, retention, reactivation, and VIC growth through appointments, events, outreach, personalized service, and effective use of clienteling tools.
  • Partner with the Buying team to share client insights and selling trends that inform seasonal assortments, inventory strategies, and sales opportunities.

Talent Development & Leadership

  • Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of new associates.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development planning to reinforce service standards, selling behaviors, accountability, and associate growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating Lafayette 148 values, professionalism, and luxury service standards.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty as required, ensuring effective leadership and decision-making during all business hours.

Operations & Inventory Management

  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Oversee daily operational execution, including shipment processing, replenishment, inventory management, stockroom organization, and inventory accuracy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including IT and Retail Operations to resolve issues and support business needs.
  • Ensure operational excellence through accurate inventory control, cash handling, reporting, compliance, and adherence to company standards.
  • Assume responsibility for boutique operations and business execution in the Boutique Manager's absence.

Brand Standards & Boutique Experience

  • Maintain Lafayette 148 visual merchandising, presentation, and service standards to ensure a luxury environment throughout the boutique.
  • Support the execution of in-store events, community outreach initiatives, and local business development opportunities.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing Lafayette 148 with professionalism and integrity at all times.

Desired Background

  • 3–5 years of leadership experience within a luxury or premium retail environment.
  • Proven track record of driving sales results and delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Experience managing operational processes, inventory, and boutique standards.
  • Previous Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or Store Management experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of retail KPIs.

  • Proficiency in clienteling tools, retail technology platforms, and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb stairs/ladders, and occasionally bend or kneel to access merchandise.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; constant communication and visual focus required.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, or move merchandise and fixtures weighing up to 25 lbs.
