Assistant Boiler Operator

About the role

Assist shift engineers with plant operations, perform water chemistry tests on boilers, chilled water, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment, assist with boiler and chiller maintenance overhauls, and maintain general plant housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist shift engineers with plant operations
• Perform various water chemistry tests on boilers, chilled water, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment
• Assist with boiler and chiller maintenance overhauls
• General plant housekeeping
• Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and security standards
• Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or higher
• Current State of Minnesota Second Class A Engineers License (must maintain)
• Current and valid Driver’s License
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)

Qualifications

Applicants meeting the basic qualifications may be required to take and pass 3M-elected testing as part of the selection process.

• Proficient computer and communication skills

Pay

The starting rate of pay for this position is $43.59 per hour, with the potential to reach $44.74 per hour. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.
