Assistant Baseball Coach - Pitching

About the role

The Assistant Baseball Pitching Coach of Men’s Baseball reports to the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics, assisting in overseeing all aspects of operating a successful college level intercollegiate athletic program. The work location is Virginia Beach, VA, with a salary range of $12.77 - $21.21 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist student-athletes in obtaining spiritual growth and track academic progress.
• Provide appropriate advice and assistance to help ensure the success of each student-athlete’s spiritual development and completed stated program of study.
• Instruction of student-athletes – teaching sport-specific skills, tactics, and techniques required per team and individualized workouts, practices, and games.
• Report any known or suspected violations of the NCAA and/or university rules by head coach, assistant coach(es), student-athletes, staff, etc. promptly to the Director of Athletics.
• Assist in organizing and supervising all practices, games, and other workout sessions for the team.
• Assist head coach in the instruction and coaching of student athletes.
• Evidence of a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate competition and adhere to the rules and standards established by NCAA.
• Abide by and comply with the constitution, bylaws, and interpretations of the NCAA and university rules and regulations relating to the conduct and administration of the program.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with one or more years of successful high school, college, or private coaching experience. Candidates must have a proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups, and in public speaking contexts, as well as a proven ability to communicate ideas and priorities effectively to promote teamwork and achieve desired results.
