Assistant Baseball Coach
Position Summary
Aid in the planning and direction of the USM Baseball program, aligning with the University's mission and the Athletic Department's goals. Responsibilities include assisting the Head Coach with skill development, recruiting, and retention of student-athletes.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Support the Head Coach in conducting, disciplining, and fostering positive character development among student-athletes.
- Encourage personal and academic growth of student-athletes, promoting USM's mission values of community, respect, justice, and excellence.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach in recruiting quality student-athletes and assist in retaining them through monitoring academic performance.
- Perform sport-specific coaching duties as directed by the Head Coach.
- Manage and distribute sports equipment and uniforms, and assist in promotional, fundraising, and recruitment efforts for the Athletic Department.
- Contribute to game and event management for the USM Athletic Department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred.
- Two to three years of related experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to obtain and maintain an approved driver's license.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., sitting or standing for extended periods, and working nights and weekends.
- Able to travel as needed.
