Assistant Baseball Coach

About the role

Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as the Assistant Coach for our Baseball program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering skill development, teamwork, and a positive sports culture. Must be able to obtain all necessary background checks, including FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse History Clearance, and a physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Program Leadership: Lead all aspects of the Baseball program, including planning, organization, and implementation of practices and games. Create a positive and competitive team environment that promotes skill development and sportsmanship.
• Skill Development: Develop and implement effective baseball drills and practices to enhance players' skills. Provide individualized coaching to address player strengths and areas for improvement.
• Game Strategy: Plan and execute effective game strategies in collaboration with assistant coaches. Attend games and actively contribute to in‑game decision making.
• Player Motivation and Mentorship: Motivate players to achieve their best both on and off the field. Serve as a mentor and positive role model for student‑athletes.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and the athletics department. Provide regular updates on player progress and team performance.
• Professional Development: Stay informed about current trends and best practices in baseball coaching. Pursue opportunities for professional development to enhance coaching skills.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience in middle school or youth baseball is preferred.
• Knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and skill development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to the holistic development of student‑athletes.
