About the role

The Apprentice Bartender is responsible for servicing guests in a courteous and professional manner while assisting bartenders throughout the course of business. This role ensures bar areas are always cleaned, organized, and properly stocked with prepped ingredients.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all guests in a professional manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar area.
  • Ensure the bar is properly stocked with supplies necessary for service.
  • Replenish ice coolers, garnish trays, straws, and napkin holders.
  • Ensure bar equipment and supplies are clean and in working order.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
  • Perform all opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
  • Ensure all Resorts World core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
  • Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job-related operational tasks, job duties, and review of company documents.
  • Adhere to five core non-negotiable responsibilities:
    • Everyone is an Ambassador – treat the property like your own home.
    • Everyone works in Safety – address safety concerns immediately.
    • Everyone works in Security – report security concerns.
    • Everyone works in EVS – maintain cleanliness and report larger messes.
    • Everyone works in Guest Experience – assist guests with a smile and escalate when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Polished appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six months of experience working in a similar bar or restaurant setting.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Required licenses:
    • Food Handler Card
    • Alcohol Awareness Card
    • Non-Gaming Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of bartender work and/or drink preparation.

Physical Demands

  • Work is typically performed in a restaurant/bar environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
  • Prolonged sitting/standing.
  • Bending and reaching.
  • Transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and maneuvering items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Eye/hand coordination.
  • Ability to comply with policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS), and other instructions.
