About the role

As an Assistant Banquet Manager, you will work across disciplines to deliver an exceptional experience. This role involves leading and developing the banquet team while ensuring seamless execution of events.

Responsibilities

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Banquet Department to ensure cultural and core standards are met.
  • Oversee daily activities and planning for outlet operations, ensuring visibility in operations and handling guest complaints or special requests.
  • Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to banquet event orders, collaborating with group contacts, Catering Managers, and Conference Services Managers.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of all food items and provide expertise in wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment.
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory, and cash control.
  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Monitor physical conditions of banquet facilities and equipment, making recommendations for corrections as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a Manager or Assistant Manager position in Food & Beverage.
  • A sincere willingness to provide service to guests, residents, and peers.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to function well under pressure, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions.
  • High work ethic and a sense of responsibility within the team.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Fluency in English and legal work authorization in the United States.
