Assistant Bakery Manager

Overview of Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer satisfaction through the management and leadership of Bakery Clerks and assisting the Bakery Manager in the daily supervision of Bakery Department operations.
- Manage and merchandise the department for maximum productivity and profit.
- Order and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team.
- Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays.
- Maintain display areas and ensure the delivery of excellent customer service.
- Monitor in-coming cases for damaged items.
- Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures.
- Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
- Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Bakery team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures.
- Monitor the quality of Bakery product.
- Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed.
- Use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
- Stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
- Vertically transfer tray up to 5 lbs., from 7” to 64” for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs., from 5” to 36”, for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience.
- Dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays.
- Outgoing and friendly behavior, positive attitude, and the ability to interact with our customers.
- Good communication skills; and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment.
- Able to answer phones and take special orders.
- Able to perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
- Able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed.
- Able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $17.55 - $24.55 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
