Assistant Baker

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is looking for a talented part‑time Assistant Bread Baker. You’ll join a dynamic team that creates artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads using honest, whole ingredients, and you should be passionate about food quality, customer service, and community.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to details to create one‑of‑a‑kind breads.
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies (50 lb or more).
• Stand and walk continuously throughout the shift with limited sitting.
• Remain flexible and adapt to changes while monitoring the baking process.
• Work afternoon/evening shifts; bread‑baking shifts typically run 11 am – 7 pm plus a Sunday shift (store closed).
• During holiday seasons, schedules may flex into overnight shifts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Large‑scale baking or pastry experience (preferred but not required; willingness to train the right person).
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, and federal food‑handler and sanitation standards.
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus.

Schedule
