Assistant Baker

About the Role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker to join our dynamic team. We are passionate about food quality, customer service, and community, and we're looking for someone who shares these values. As an Assistant Bread Baker, you'll have the opportunity to create a unique menu selection of artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads using honest, whole ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and pay close attention to details to create one-of-a-kind breads
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more
• Work afternoons/nights, with shifts starting around 11 am - 7 pm, including Sundays (when the store is closed)
• Be flexible and adapt to changes in the kitchen, especially during holiday seasons when overnight shifts may be required

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
• Availability to work afternoons/evenings, including Sundays and potential overnight shifts during holidays
• At least 18 years of age

Qualifications

• Large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required; willing to train the right person)
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handler and sanitation standards
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus
