Assistant Baker

About the role

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is looking for a part‑time Assistant Bread Baker who is passionate about food quality, customer service, and community. You will join a dynamic team that creates artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads using honest, whole ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong kitchen abilities: follow recipes closely and pay attention to details to create unique breads.
• Lift large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies (50 lb or more).
• Stand and walk continuously throughout the shift with limited sitting.
• Remain flexible and adaptable to changes while monitoring production.
• Work afternoon/evening shifts; bread‑baking shifts typically run 11 am – 7 pm plus a Sunday shift (store closed). During holidays the schedule may flex into overnight shifts.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Large‑scale baking or pastry experience (preferred but not required; willingness to train the right candidate).
• Attentiveness to local, state, and federal food‑handler and sanitation regulations.
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule

Afternoon/evening availability required. Bread‑baking shifts start around 11 am – 7 pm, plus a shift on Sunday (when the store is closed). During holiday seasons the schedule may flex into overnight shifts.
