Assistant Attorney General - Utility Regulation

Unit: Utility Regulation • Location: Oklahoma City, OK • Full time, regular position

Position Summary

The Office of Attorney General’s Utility Regulation Unit represents and protects the interests of the state’s utility customers in administrative and civil proceedings affecting utility rates, charges, and terms and conditions of service. The Attorney General is the State’s principal consumer advocate working to keep utility customer rates reasonable and affordable. The successful candidate will primarily advocate for utility customers in proceedings before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, including researching, analyzing, and presenting complex financial and legal information at trial and through briefing.

Responsibilities

• Research and review complex data produced by sophisticated companies and subject-matter experts.
• Prepare written recommendations based on research.
• Assist with discovery on various cases.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide assistance with litigation before the Corporation Commission or other venues.
• Work with internal and external subject-matter experts to develop recommendations.
• Minor travel is expected.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney in the State of Oklahoma or eligible to sit for the bar exam by summer 2026.
