Assistant Attorney General - Education Section
The Education Section
The Education Section represents Ohio’s 36 public colleges and universities and several state agencies including the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, the State Board of Education of Ohio, and the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The Section’s attorneys represent client agencies in federal court, state court, and in administrative hearings. The attorneys also provide legal advice to public colleges and universities and state agencies on a variety of legal issues including, but not limited to, legal compliance, student affairs, college governance, policy, employment issues, health care, transactional matters, public relations, public records and open meetings, and administrative procedures.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working as an attorney
- Preferably, experience in federal court
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code

Benefits
This position requires a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The headquarters location is our Columbus, Ohio office.
