Assistant Athletic Trainer, Equestrian
About the role

This role is an on-campus, in-person position. The focus of the Assistant Athletic Trainer is to promote and protect the health and well-being of intercollegiate student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Education, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries
- Medical record keeping, documentation, and injury tracking / monitoring
- Various administrative duties to support the operations of the sports medicine program
- Traveling with respective teams to provide care and support while on the road for competition
- Working weekends to provide coverage for competitions and practices
Requirements
- Master’s degree is required, preferably in Sports Medicine or Athletic Training
- A minimum of one (1) year of work experience is required
- Experience with women's equestrian is a plus
- NATA-BOC Certification is required
- Texas License (or eligibility for) as an Athletic Trainer is required
- Certification(s) in AED, CPR and First Aid is required

- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions
- Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
- Basic or functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to learn and utilize injury documentation and tracking software
