Work Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Assistant/Associate Provost for Admissions reports directly to the Provost, is part of the Academic Affairs team, and is embedded with the Enrollment Management department.

About the role

The AP‑Admissions is responsible for overseeing selection criteria and policies for all student admissions at Regent University. This role maintains regular coordination and communication with Deans, program leaders, enrollment management staff and leadership, and decentralized contributors to the admissions process, ensuring the university’s strategic admission priorities are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert in admissions policies and procedures at Regent University.
  • Oversee the development and coordination of admissions policies that support retention and graduation.
  • Coordinate and meet regularly with key stakeholders in Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Colleges and Schools, IT, and others to effectuate admissions policies and protocol.
  • Act as a vital liaison between leaders of academic programs and support staff in Admissions.
  • Routinely audit the timely and proper evaluation of applicants, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed in rendering admissions decisions.
  • Serve as the primary resource for admissions requirements, academic program information, faculty details, and admissions criteria for new or changing programs.
  • Manage all necessary admission decision rubrics to maintain a streamlined process.
  • Coordinate with staff within Enrollment Management, Admissions Evaluation, Enrollment Support Services, and academic programs on file/applicant review and application decision processes (phases, responsible parties, communication of decisions).
  • Demonstrate exemplary Christian leadership, embodying Regent’s core values of excellence, innovation, and integrity.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to spearhead a strategic refinement of Regent’s enrollment model to increase selectivity and enhance graduation completion and other quality outcomes.
  • Cultivate strategies that support growth in the on‑campus student population.
  • Leverage data analytics to develop and optimize fiscally sound admissions outcomes (measured through robust KPIs) that achieve Regent’s strategic priorities for student‑body composition.
  • Provide leadership in best‑in‑class traditional relational admissions methods while exploring emergent and alternative admissions models.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree required; doctorate preferred, with relevant experience in the field.
  • Working knowledge of Regent admissions systems (e.g., Banner, Recruit, Advise) for analysis, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving.
  • Proven ability to utilize data analytics to guide admissions strategies and achieve desired student acquisition outcomes.
  • Ability to guide relational admission approaches at all levels (faculty, specialized recruiters, enrollment‑management staff, etc.) to maximize selective student acquisition.

Pay

Salary range: $165,000 – $180,000 USD annually (dependent on rank and qualifications).
