Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice, Cyber & Intelligence Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses using multiple delivery formats (on-campus and online).
  • Engage students in active learning, class participation, and project-based assignments.
  • Develop syllabi, course materials, lectures, and assignments.
  • Advise and mentor students on career readiness and professional development.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and with community/business partners.
  • Contribute to ENGR and university service, including committee participation and student mentoring.
  • Participate in outreach to local communities, including government, business, and nonprofits.

  • Information Operations (IO) concepts, terms, and authorities
  • Deception, Counter-deception, and Counter-intelligence
  • Psychological Operations (PSYOP)
  • Information Warfare (IW)
  • Computational Propaganda
  • Virtual Persona/Bot creation & management
  • Applied Agentic AI & Generative AIO
  • Offensive and defensive IO operations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Current knowledge of IO practices, tools, and technologies
  • Pedagogical knowledge, curriculum design, and adult learning theory
  • Instructional skills for both in-person and online modalities
  • Ethical and legal standards in professional practice

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.S. in Information Warfare, Cybersecurity, Intelligence Studies, National Security, or related field
  • Demonstrable experience in IO, PSYOP, deception/counter-intelligence, computational propaganda, virtual persona/bot management
  • Previous teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in relevant field
  • Computer Security experience
  • Experience with innovative online teaching methods
  • Professional experience in the Intelligence Community (IC)
  • DoD or IC security clearance

$92,308 – $115,385 per year
