About the role
The Tulane Section of Infectious Diseases is seeking a faculty member for a full-time position at a large university-affiliated medical center in the New Orleans Metropolitan area. Candidates will receive an academic appointment at Tulane University School of Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, dependent on previous academic accomplishments and experience.
Responsibilities
- Staffing several HIV/ID clinics
- Rounding on inpatient ID consultation services at the Tulane Medical Center and University Medical Center of New Orleans
- Possible options include Infection Prevention, Travel Clinic, Transplant ID, curriculum development, clinical research and/or quality improvement activities
Requirements

Qualifications
PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent degree required. A strong commitment to teaching and mentoring is essential. Clinical skills and experience in infectious diseases are required. Experience with patient care, medical education, and research is preferred.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Proficiency in clinical practice and research is required.
