Kansas City University College of Dental Medicine seeks general dentists as full-time clinical faculty for a new dental school in Joplin, Missouri.
Responsibilities
- Serve as educators in the simulation laboratory and/or as group leaders for a team-based comprehensive care clinical education program in the Oral Health Center.
- Serve as faculty to oversee the provision of dental care provided by dental students.
- Serve as faculty to provide didactic and clinical education of pre-doctoral dental students in the simulation laboratory, in the Group Practice, and in community settings.
- Provide comprehensive general dental care when needed in the Oral Health Center.
- Be part of the development and growth of a new dental school and serve as academic coaches and role models for students.
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates must possess a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree or equivalent.
- The preferred candidate will be currently licensed in Missouri or have an active dental license in a US state or Canada and be eligible for licensure in Missouri.
- Didactic and clinical instruction in general dentistry to pre-doctoral dental students within the simulation laboratory and group practice will be core responsibilities for this position.
- Preference given to candidates with prior teaching experience and advanced training in general or restorative dentistry.
- Demonstrate a passion for dentistry, an enthusiasm for dental education, and a strong desire to teach students in a demanding, startup academic environment.
- A strong desire to improve the oral and overall health for patients in the region through collaboration with other primary care professionals is encouraged.
