Position Overview
Provide classroom, laboratory, or hybrid instruction in automotive service technology.
Plan and deliver instruction in accordance with approved syllabi, curriculum guidelines, and ASE program standards.
Engage in student advisement, registration, and support activities.
Participate in program development, assessment, marketing, and retention efforts.
Model professionalism and maintain cultural competency in teaching practices.
Essential Duties
- Teach ASE courses as assigned; use classroom, hybrid, or online modalities.
- Maintain scheduled office hours (minimum five per week).
- Supervise and enforce safety procedures in labs and workshops.
- Assist in curriculum development, training instructors, and program evaluation.
- Serve on college committees or special task forces.
- Engage in professional development in active learning and cultural competency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Completion of credentialing programs in Automotive Service Technology or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of related professional experience; at least 2 years teaching experience in higher education; experience in curriculum development at the post-secondary level.
- Licenses/Certifications: Possession or ability to obtain Colorado CTE credentials; ASE certifications (G-1 and A1–A8) or ability to obtain.
- Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of best practices in post-secondary instruction; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems; strong communication in English; mobility on campus; ability to lift 25 lbs.
