Northwestern State University's College of Nursing and School of Allied Health seeks an applicant for a 9-month full-time faculty position for the Associate/Bachelor of Science degree programs in Nursing available in Shreveport beginning January 5, 2026. Minimum Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Nursing degree is required; however, a Doctorate is preferred;
- Eligible for membership on undergraduate faculty.
- Unencumbered licensure status as an RN in the state of Louisiana; or eligible for Louisiana licensure.
- At least three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
- At least three (3) years of nurse educator experience; three (3) or more preferred.
Job Duties And Other Information
- Perform faculty responsibilities within a large nursing education department at Northwestern State University.
- Support program expansion efforts in Shreveport and surrounding areas.
- Teach assigned courses in a manner that promotes academic excellence and student engagement.
- Evaluate student learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback.
- Serve as a professional role model to students and peers.
- Represent the university in a positive and professional manner.
- Maintain regular office hours and demonstrate reliable attendance.
- Engage in activities that promote the College of Nursing, which may occur during evenings, weekends, or off-site.
- Exhibit flexibility, collaboration, and a supportive attitude in all college and university-related activities.
- Actively recruit students to programs within the College of Nursing and School of Allied Health.
- Serve as a liaison between the College and other university departments, as well as local, state, and national agencies and organizations.
- Master's degree in Nursing required; Doctorate preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in curriculum development, instruction, student evaluation, and academic advising.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Must meet all university-defined standards for academic appointment.
