About the Role

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the NCCU School of Education seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor to teach campus and online classes in the Educational Technology and Instructional Design graduate programs. Responsibilities include student advisement, supervision of practicum and field experiences, participation in school, university, and professional service, and scholarly activities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses in educational technology, instructional design, and related areas.
  • Provide academic advising and university service.
  • Engage in collaboration, accreditation-related activities, and promotion of the program and university.
  • Fulfill leadership duties as assigned by the department chair or dean.
  • Conduct scholarly endeavors, including grant writing, research leading to refereed publications, and presentations at state and national conferences.

Requirements

  • Completed Ph.D. or equivalent in Educational Technology or Instructional Design (or closely related discipline) by position start date (ABD may be considered).
  • Demonstrated record of or strong potential for achievement in teaching, academic research, and service commensurate with experience.
  • Experience working with a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Relevant licensure and credentials in Educational Technology and Instructional Design.
  • Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Strong identity as an educational technology/instructional design educator.
