About the role
The University of Kentucky College of Medicine seeks to recruit a faculty member for a full-time, tenure-track appointment (12 month) at any rank to contribute to our missions in research, teaching and academic service.
Responsibilities
- Establish an independent, extramurally-funded research program addressing significant and fundamental questions in their respective field.
- Collaborate with other faculty members in the Department of Physiology and across the College of Medicine.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physiology.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of educational initiatives.
Requirements
- A Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree.
- Research interests in pulmonary, renal, or reproductive physiology are preferred but not required.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring.
Qualifications
- Ability to conduct independent research.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Experience in grant writing and securing funding.
