Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is currently seeking a faculty member to provide inpatient care services in the Pediatric Neonatology Intensive Unit. This position will primarily be responsible for directing patient care to admitted patients, writing daily progress notes, submitting clinical charges, and overseeing fellow residents, neonatal nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and ancillary staff in providing care.

Required Education

  • M.D., DO, or the foreign equivalent
  • Completion of Residency in Pediatrics and Fellowship in Neonatology
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neonatology
  • Eligible for a state-required medical license

Required Related Experience

Completion of Residency in Pediatrics and Fellowship in Neonatology

The Kentucky Children’s Hospital has Eastern and Central Kentucky’s only Level I pediatric trauma center, Level IV newborn (neonatal) intensive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit. In addition, this facility houses more than 30 advanced sub-specialty programs, such as pediatric oncology and pediatric surgery. The NICU is a 66-bed unit providing Level IV and intermediate care for the newborn. It provides a neonatal transport team that utilizes the Kentucky Children’s Hospital ambulance, a mobile neonatal unit, and serves as a regional neonatal transport center serving Eastern and Central Kentucky. Our NICU is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology to give every at-risk newborn the best possible care.
