About the role
The Department of Otolaryngology at UC San Diego seeks otolaryngologists specializing in sleep medicine to join its faculty. Selected candidates will contribute to the tripartite mission of clinical care, research, and education. Appointment series and rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be determined by the candidate’s background and experience.
Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. If appointed to a title covered by the Health Sciences Compensation Plan (APM-671), outside professional activities are limited and clinical moonlighting is prohibited.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent patient care in sleep medicine.
- Contribute to the department’s scholarly and research mission.
- Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students.
Requirements
- MD or equivalent degree.
- Board eligible or board certified in otolaryngology.
- Eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit.
- Completion of a sleep medicine and/or sleep surgery fellowship by the start date.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Board eligible or certified in Sleep Medicine.
- Preferred: Experience in multidisciplinary sleep programs.
- Preferred: Record of research or publication in sleep-disordered breathing and sleep apnea.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $235,000 – $675,000, based on UC Salary scales and determined by appointment type, rank, and/or step. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
