Responsibilities

This clinical position includes duties consisting of weekly outpatient and imaging sessions, up to 8 weeks attending on the inpatient cardiology consult and critical care services, precepting fellow(s) clinic and opportunities for teaching and academic development, which includes presenting and attendance at appropriate conferences, meetings, and service committees. A significant responsibility includes teaching as required, and training fellows, residents, and students. Weekend and/or holiday service as an attending physician on the inpatient service commensurate with peers. Conduct independent research in line with the goals of the Department of Medicine.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution or a comparable foreign medical degreeCompletion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program.Completion of an ACGME accredited Fellowship in Cardiovascular DiseaseCertification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Cardiovascular Medicine, and preferably certification by The National Board of Echocardiography and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology Licensure & Certification Board certification (or board eligibility) in Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)Unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of practiceDEA registration for prescribing controlled substancesCurrent BLS and ACLS certification.

Qualifications

The successful applicant should have completed three years in an ACGME accredited Cardiovascular Fellowship and should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine with strong interest and expertise in non-invasive imaging including echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear studies.
