Assistant/Associate/Full Professor: Sleep Medicine PACCS
About the Job
This academic track faculty member will devote at least 85% effort to providing high quality clinical care in sleep medicine, with some concurrent education of trainees. The remaining effort will be dedicated to education and collaborative research activities with the expectation of demonstrated accomplishments consistent with promotion in the academic track (an average of at least one publication per year, for example).
The clinical activity will be at University of Minnesota Medical Center (Hospital and Clinics and Surgery Center) and will include time at one or more other Fairview Hospitals and Clinics. The faculty will participate actively and contribute to PACCS Division and Department of Medicine academic and clinical programs in pulmonary and critical care.
It is strongly encouraged that faculty develop an area of focus and expertise, gradually developing a regional and then national reputation in sleep medicine. Faculty would participate actively in the relevant multi-disciplinary programs. Faculty will be expected to participate in multi-investigator research studies and grants related to sleep medicine and/or other Division and Department research projects.
Active participation in the Division's clinical and research conferences, journal club and core curriculum lectures and teaching of students, residents and fellows is expected. Experience and skills in education and/or clinical research are desirable.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. and have demonstrated high-level qualifications and in-depth knowledge in the area of Sleep Medicine including Board certification or eligibility by American Board of Internal Medicine.
- Applicants must have the ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA category while in the United States.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000. Total combined salary is anticipated to be in the range of $250,698 - $307,967. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with the market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
