Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Sports Media and Communication

About the role

The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication seeks a dynamic candidate for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of sports media and communication to engage in research, teaching, and leadership related to its new Sports Media and Communication major. The program provides hands‑on training in creating content using industry‑standard and emerging digital tools, including broadcasting, writing, social media, and public relations. The successful candidate will uphold programmatic goals and curriculum objectives, as the school is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in sports media and communication.
• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in sports media, advertising, digital storytelling, journalism, or public relations.
• Provide leadership and contribute to the development and assessment of the Sports Media and Communication major.
• Ensure adherence to programmatic goals and curriculum objectives.
• Collaborate with faculty and students in a research‑intensive (R1) environment.
• Engage in scholarly analysis of sports communication within the Big 12 context.
