Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Psychology (School Psychology)
Sam Houston State University’s Department of Psychology and Philosophy in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks a tenure-track, open-rank Professor (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) for its NASP-approved specialist program in School Psychology, starting Fall 2027.
About the role
The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses, supervise field-based practical experiences in the Specialist in School Psychology Program, and may teach undergraduate psychology courses in areas of expertise. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.

Responsibilities
- Teach graduate-level courses in the Specialist in School Psychology Program
- Supervise field-based practical experiences for school psychology students
- Teach undergraduate psychology courses in areas of expertise as needed
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Demonstrate evidence of or strong potential for scholarship in school psychology
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an APA-accredited and/or NASP-approved program (must be conferred by August 25, 2027)
- Eligibility for licensure as both a Psychologist and Licensed School Psychologist in Texas
- Commitment to a student-centered approach and passion for working with students from all backgrounds
Qualifications
- Preferred: Minimum of two years of experience as a school psychologist practitioner
- Preferred: Potential for acquiring extramural funding
