Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Biochemistry

About the role

The University of Missouri (MU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) within the Division of Biochemistry, which is also affiliated with the School of Medicine (SOM). Responsibilities will include contributions to graduate, undergraduate and possibly medical education. We seek applications in areas of fundamental and/or plant biochemistry, including, but not limited to signaling, stress/environmental response or metabolism.

Responsibilities

We seek dynamic individuals to lead federally-funded research programs, contribute to graduate and undergraduate education programs through instruction and research mentorship.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field by the time of application.

• Candidates will be evaluated on:

  • A record of research in an area of fundamental or agriculturally relevant biochemistry that complements departmental strengths.
  • Applications at the Associate and Assistant Professor levels are most encouraged.
  • Candidates at Associate Professor level will be expected to show evidence of substantial and ongoing extramural research funding, high impact publications and excellence in teaching and service expected of tenured faculty at a research-intensive university.
  • At Assistant Professor level, a candidate’s application should speak to successful post-doctoral research; effective communication; and interest in collaborative research.
