The Computer Science Department seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The department is committed to the teacher/scholar model and offers an ABET-accredited program. UW Oshkosh serves nearly 10,000 students annually, with a strong emphasis on teaching excellence and a diverse student body, including many first-generation college students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in an ABET-accredited Computer Science program.
  • Conduct research and publish in refereed journals and/or peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
  • Advise majors and serve on departmental and university committees.
  • Teach in multiple instructional modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid) and potentially graduate-level courses.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field (required by start date). ABDs with a reasonable likelihood of degree completion prior to hiring may apply.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Preferred:
    • Demonstrated record of effective teaching or strong potential for effective teaching, evidenced by teaching experience, student evaluations, teaching awards, or a teaching statement.
    • Ability and willingness to teach a variety of undergraduate Computer Science courses, demonstrated through prior teaching experience, graduate coursework, or a statement of teaching interests.
    • Record of scholarly activity, including publications in refereed journals and/or peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
    • Expertise or specialization in one or more of the following areas: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or Intelligent, Agentic, and Secure Systems, as evidenced by education, research, publications, professional experience, or teaching.
    • Ability and willingness to teach in multiple instructional modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid) and/or graduate-level Computer Science courses.

Pay

Starting at $85,000, commensurate with experience.
