About the role
The City of Elk Grove Public Works Department seeks to fill an Associate Civil Engineer and Assistant Engineer position in the Capital Improvement Program Division. The division oversees the design, permitting, bidding, and award of the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects, which include a variety of exciting and challenging projects such as large roadway segments with new bridges, roundabouts, roads, new freeway interchanges, pedestrian overcrossings, active transportation enhancements, complete streets, drainage, and facilities projects.
Responsibilities
- Design development and delivery of public works infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of architectural and facility project development, principles and practices of planning, environmental, right of way, design, and construction as applied to public works projects
- Processes and procedures associated with federal and state funding requirements, and applicable federal and state laws and standards governing construction of public works projects
Requirements
- Experience in professional engineering assignments
- Expertise in multiple civil engineering-related functions
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Licensed Engineer
- Aspiring Engineer with relevant experience
